Here are some pics of the construction of the doghouse. 1/2" marine grade plywood. framed up in a day, with help from the old man. Hopefully will be glassed soon.

The woodwork looks really good! Be sure to radius the outside edges, and fillet the inside ones before the fiberglass.
What are your layout plans, and how are you going to finish it? Jim |

I used half inch quarter round on all the outside edges and than sanded them all flush. This boat will be primaraly a work boat so the inside of the console will not be anything great. The outside will be gelcoat unless there are any better options. When i removed the old t-top and center console i had it weighed, and it came in a just over 400 lbs, which seemed like a lot to me for a console and alluminum t-top. the doghouse weighs half of that now with no glass, so i figure i will have less weight overall. Any suggestions as how to make the exterior look cherry? Fiberglass will be started next weekend. Thanks for any ideas.

Well, if you already have the edges round, and you’re going to gel coat, then you probably know the drill. No suggestions here on how to make it look cherry. Your surfaces are flat so the sanding shouldn’t be too bad.
That picture at the top of this post is sweet. The inboard CC is one great looking boat! Is that deck and fuel tank layout original? How is the exhaust routed? Between two tanks? |

Thanks, Yes deck and fuel tanks layout are both original layout. The exhaust does run between the fuel tanks. The fuel tanks and exhaust are very accessible as the aft deck is one removable piece. Next year, I plan on re-doing that section. Not that anything is wrong with it now, I just want to beef it up, and put a new leaning post in her.

Any ideas about a ball park figure of how much to re-wire the whole boat, stem to stern. From the bilge pumps, to gas tanks, to electronics, to nav lights, the whole thing? Thanks.
