If you would stick a piece of wire or something narrow and sharp into the pee holes where the water is suppose to come out it will usually take care of your problem.Allot of times it just get's some sand or dried salt in the hole and blocks the hole up.I keep a piece of stiff leader wire on my rocket launcher just for that reason as it really is quite common on Yamaha two strokes.Make sure you have water running to the engine before trying to un-clogg the holes where the water shoots out.

Thanks I'll give it a try. Someone else mentioned that at work today.

With my twins another thing that you can do is run water through connecting the hose straight to each engine. This can blow crap out of the pee holes.

Ear muffs suck. Be careful with them. You have to force water to the impeller for the ear muffs to work. Normally the impeller sits below the water level when the boat is in the water. You are probably right about the lack of pressure. If the engines have sat for a long time then there will be no water in the lower unit. Coming back from a fishing trip and then using the earmuffs while the lower unit is still "primed" with water gets better results with the ear muffs. I just had the same thing happen to me this weekend. Engine would not pee with the ear muffs. Put it in the water at the dock and it started peeing as soon as I fired it up.

Swamp If you can't get it to water take a clean trash can and get it under the engine with enough water it get all the intakes summerged. some times the muffs dont have enough volume to do any good. The only trouble I've ever had with the pee holes is a piece of sand or corrosion right in the end. Fish a piece of wire in there and see if it helps. It doesn't take much to clog them.

I should have though of that Jon. I'll try that this weekend. That ought to work fine! I have a trash can that should work fine.
