I'm pretty sure it's the mounting Jason. Those pump's don't like to lift water. They like to push it.

When the ballvalve is open I bet the water come's up as high as the bend in the hose. So the pump is air locked. it may work whan you have some foward movement with the boat, but that doesn't do you any good when your anchored up. Plus, just the foward movement of the boat will fill the livewell without the pump even turned on.

As far as I know, all the livewell pump's don't have a on demand.
Now a lot of the washdown pump's do, but they are diaphram style pump's.

Warthog-

I think you are correct, The scary thing is, I mounted the pump just shy of the waterline so when the the ball valve was open the water should of gone directly to the pump. However I may have been just that 1/2 inch to high thus nullifing the effect.

I think I may make a seachest for another boat and this pump will be the ticket.

Anywho- took her out for a sea trial yesterday and the new pump is great as well as the performance of the boat with a single 200 HPDI, I was surprised but the boat jumped onto plane and at WOT I hit 35KTS.

not too bad

since I was solo no pictires yet, maybe this weekend if the owner comes to pick her up.
