Default Counter Rotating

Hi just curiuous, I purchased a really strong running Johnson 225 for a good deal, dropped it on, Have not gotten her wet yet, But I realized the engine is a Counter Rotating motor. The prop is correct for the motos. Will this cause any problems? I wanted simplicity with the carbs and something I can work on, and got a good deal on a low hour motor. If I recall it wont make much difference? Also if the Lower unit goes bad Can I install a std rotater and prop and go that route?

Default Re: Counter Rotating

May take some getting used to the maneuvering differences but shouldn't be a major problem.

You're lucky!! Used Left handed props are about 1/3 the price of right handed ones. There is no difference in performance . . . and you could swap LU's for a righty. There was a 17 pitch stainless viper LH prop on ebay recently that sold for $45. Enjoy!!
