seacraft sceptre

I am looking at an 82 seacraft sceptre. The transom has been redone and a bracket added. Will the bracket create a bad ride on the boat since the boat was originally set up for outboards? Also is it difficult to convert the sceptre to a center console? Also is the 82 a good year Seacraft, I do not want to buy trouble?
