Good reference point on dtmackey's research. Could the salt mist settle inside the cowling only @ the lower cylinder level or is it a seal on the cowling letting water in, like Reelescape suggested. My money goes with the settling salt mist, after getting the techs from BRP's comments. The Merc's I have get a bunch of salt on the powerhead from being offshore(Armstrong Bracket).
