Rockdoc,

Hi, this is Skip, the other half of 65Bowrider.
On all the hardware, I started with a 2" fine wire wheel & got off most of the chrome. Then I took my drummel with a rotary sandpaper, 150 grit & finished taking off the thin layer of copper to get to the brass & bronze. Then used 220 followed by 400 abrasive wheel on the drummel to get the smooth & polished look. The final step was using 1500 wet/dry sand paper which gave it a higher shine. Followed by several coats of sprayed laquer. Lots of work, but worth the effort.
