Well, I'm down for a bit, for some possibly serious engine maintenance - gotta pull a head off and see what caused a sparkplug gap to get closed up, electrode pushed in.
Worst case, a rebuild, probably be out 2 - 3 weeks (I've done a lot of motor work in my life) I'll let anyone else take the lead on this. Bill |

Sounds like wrist pin or rod bearing.
![]() ![]() Compression test should tell if it is top end or bottom end. Good Luck with it Bill, Keep us posted. Ken

Ken, et al -
I believe I got lucky, it was a soft hit, probably carbon, that pushed in the electrode. Con rod bearings are fine, compression is good, 115 - 120 all cylinders, visual examination shows everything good, closed it up and ran it on muffs - sounds just fine. Goin back in the water - just not this weekend - I'm off to the Vineyard for the shark tournament !! Bill |
