Anyone see today's paper? Apparently yesterday someone in a 19 ft. SeaCraft was run down by a 34 ft. boat. Details in the brief article were sparse- the guy was killed. It happened in south Jersey near Barnegat. Anybody know more about this ?

That was actually about a mile and a half from my house (ICW 126). My local paper didn't have much more to add other than a picture of the larger boat with the bow rail and other debris from the smaller boat wrapped around it's shafts. The details of the incident won't be made available until after the CG and marine police investigation's are done.
Very sad.... ![]() We've had a bad year here at Little Egg. Seems there's a bad incident every couple of weeks or so. Usually very quiet here.

A little more info appeared in today's news. The guy was drift fishing when run down. I can't believe that the guy in the 34 Ocean Master will not be charged with some criminal offense-seems like a matter of time until investigation is complete, but how can he not be negligent ?

I fell bad for this guy.I believe the rule of the road is that you can not inpead block or anchor, only in the case of emergency any were with in the channel markers. This is a big problem in the keys were divers are diving the channels.
I had a marine patrol tell me this when I was catching bait in Boca inlet one time. God bless this man and his family. Keith |

More in AC Press today...also he was a friend of one of the members of my fishing club and docked next to him on Motts creek. He also was a close friend of my tenant both in roofing union.. He is on my mailing list and has been in my store but I did not know him personaly..He had 2 kids I think one was about 10yo.The Seacraft was yellow w/140 OB.
Anyway It makes you think of how bad things can happen out there,, Realy have to keep an eye out....ON another note a few years back ,Friends of mine trolling at the 28 mi wreck were run over by a larger boat, there boat was totaled and they been so upset they never got another boat and they were lifetime fisherman.. That is pretty sad
![]() I know accidents happen, but to get run over in what sounds like clear visibility ![]() Autopilot with no one at the helm?? I must say i have more appreciation for Tow guys. I know we would all dive in also, but they do it more often then i realized .... wish the outcome was better. ![]() I tip my hat & drink to this fellow Capt/fisherman, he passed away doing what we all love to do. - Nick |

This "BLOWS"
We should try to take up a collection from all of us and send it to the poor wife that is having to deal with this. He may not have been a member of this site, but still one of the family..... See ya, Ken
