Default Re: penske board for decks , what thickness?

Penske was purchased by some other company and is no longer in business. I used to use the Penske board in the transoms of the brackets but have had to go to Coosa because the company that bought Penske is not producing the product any longer so you are probably going to get what Jamestown has left in stock. The Penske is a high density fiber reinforced foam used primarily in transoms. If you are looking to recore decks I would suggest a 1/2" or 3/4" Divinycell foam core.
