Default Re: Fishing for the Moesly's

Why do you want to pull the tank? Fred built them out of fiberglass and I've not heard of one failing. The only issues I have is with the fill. The fuel tank requires an 1 7/8's fill hose and the standard is 1 1/2 or 2in. I used a two inch and threaded a brass barb that is 1 7/8's OD.

Back to the tank... you have to pull the cap or cut the bulkhead in front of the cockpit, the one you can see while underway. Then pull it out into the cockpit, not fun.

There is so much junk comming through the line that the racor is clogging almost imediately.Tried to have it cleaned, but it didn't work.
My boat was owned by Cecil Keith, one of the pioneers of Islamorada flats fishing and later in his life he had a cockpit sole put in(much easier to walk on)so it really makes comming through the aft bulkhead even more of a pain. That's why I was looking for the size of the tank to determine if it would fit through the hatch.I recon I'll just cut it up and take out in peices.
