transom is in good condition....the floor had a little water under the passenger chair.I had it inspected last summer and i was informed it was minimal. The fiberglass company quoted me around 1,000 to repair completely. South Jersey area

The outdrive is alpha, I did put a call in to my mechanic for the hours on the engine and outdrive. They will both be the same since they were both installed at the same time. My guess is under 200 hrs.

What would be the value of a Alpha outdrive connect to a 5.4? Merc. I have the opportunity to purchase a boat with this application but I do not need this motor. It is a 2000 model with less than 200 hours and in good condition.

The boat had a 5.0. Mercury marine makes a 5.7 that is equal to 250 HP. The engine I had installed is a 350 mag MPI that is equal to 300HP. When I had the engine installed I went to mercury's website. There were only 2 mercury certified technicians(mechanics) in my county. Cape Harbor Marina who installed the engine and outdrive is one of them, they recommended the upgrade in power and the outdrive for the sceptre. That was 20 months ago and have had zero problems with performance of the engine and the outdrive.

I am looking at a 1974 Sceptre that had the engine added in 2000. I think it is the same as your are referring to. I want the hull for a bracket modification therefore do not need the engine or outdrive and was curious to their value as I would like to make an offer for this boat. I have no clue to IO values and would be greatful for any info on their value.
