Pinners yes, chum yes, cast net yes, sabikis yes. Surfers already know it`s the best break on the east coast. Especially the monster hole after storms.

Easiest rig for pinfish is small gold hooks with small pieces of peeled shrimp. Try along the mangroves on in inside of the inlet's north side.

My 5 year old will catch 'em all day on his "Scooby-Doo" rod

On certain out going tides, there are schools of oversized redfish in the inlet. When they are there, double and triple hook ups are not uncommon Drop down anything live while drifting out the inlet east of the bridge.

Just wanted to post here to see if anyone is coming in Thursday? I'll be pulling in by noon. I just made a reservation at the Floridana Beach Motel Melbourne Beach, Florida. They have well lit parking for trailers and their rate is 65 bucks. I believe they have 2 rooms left. Here is their website.

http://www.motelfloridana.com/

If anyone wants to get together for dinner or a cold one let me know. If anyone else is already hosting dinner/cocktails please let me know. Thanks!

I will be dropping the boat in around 8am Fri at the Long Point ramp and doing some gunkholeing. Let's get things started early. I AM PUMPED!!!!!!! Is Ken taking bets on weather the mighty volvo can tow the 23 177 miles? I just got new tires, brakes and a motor.

I will heading over very early Friday so should be in the water mid morning. I'm going east to Vero and then north, I just can never pass up an opportunity to go to YEE HAW JUNCTION, seems much shorter too. Brian to much traffic for you with the 23 though, you need the better roads.

Anyone have a pinfish trap ???? it would be sweet to put out at the park to save time. I will bring my bait motel so the kids can help too if they want.

I have gotten permission from Jerry Schiaccitano at AAA Outboard, a local Mercury dealer, to bring a collection of used and new props to try out on various boat. If you find one you really like, you will also be able to buy it on the spot. (No, I do not get a commission). I just asked to do this so that we could all try different props to see what may work better. Jerry is, however, going to offer a 10% discount on all props purchased directly or ordered. I tried to get him to go 20%, but his markup is only 15% on some new props. Some of them will be used props, and priced accordingly.
The bad news is that if we spin a hub or damage a prop I gotta pay for it, so we gotta be careful.
It'll be fun.

Just learned "Little Brother" Jared, who I work with in Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, will be coming with me . . . only he's 16 and not so little anymore! Taller than me in fact! He's going up to Long Point tomorrow afternoon with his church group for the weekend, so should have a good surf and bug report early next week. Nothing like starting and ending spring break at Long Point! He's a good surfer dude and is more than willing to give surfing lessons to any of the young ladies when he's not catching fish! Denny
