Trayder,

Thanks I see what you are saying. I am leaning toward glass over top & bottom because I think there is currently too much flex between the bottom of the livewell and the hull to put a tube that connects the two without cracking again. After all, the reason it was fixed in the first place was because of this same issue.

I value the opinions of this site as well as the Mako & Aquasport sites as well. Just want to reach the largest audience to solicit opinions from. I love these forums have been visiting them & the Hull Truth for many years, just haven't been working on boats as much as I would have liked.

Thanks again for all the input, keep it coming please!

-Jeff

This livewell is in the center of the boat forward of the motor well. Here is the view from underneath, please give me your opinions on what is happening down here.

the water pickup on my 20 is the same way. i think it is leaking a little also so i need to change it out. so that is the wrong way to have the water pick up? what other easy options do i have?? i want to remove the livewell because i think it will come out and put a strainer on the bottom of the boat with a seacock inside the livewell and the pump mounted to it just like it is now. i will put pictures on tomorrow of the current set up. any opinions for now would help. thanks

How will you get the livewell out?? I have a fiberglass guy coming to check it out tomorrow I'll let you know what his suggestions are, and take photos as we progress.

i think mine will come out because my floor has been replaced already and the lip around the outside of the livewell under the hatch has screws in it. so im assuming that it will come out without much trouble if i remove the old thru hull and the screws?

Mine is still bonded in from the factory so I'm not sure about your situation. On another subject, is your boat still in the original factory blue gelcoat? I have an old Mercury outboard promo video that shows a blue SeaCraft back in the early 70's and it looks great in the original color. I have never seen one like it.
