Default 20ft Sceptre

I wanted to get some of your takes on a 20ft Sceptre I have found. I can purchase this boat and single axle trailer for $400.00. It is a little rough, hull in good shape, a couple of soft spots on floor and a non-working in/out. I would like to attempt to do some or most of the work myself. Close in transome, floor, tank, is this too much work for a beginner? I have an outboard to put on back. Am I getting in over my head? Did you guys who refirbed your boats just start out from scratch one day or were you all skilled in doing the work?
