we fished beaufort this weekend and caught a whole assortment, and were never more than 20 miles offshore. dolphin, cudas, some huge spanish, some wierd fish in the jack family, bunch of BSBs, bunch of other unidentified small stuff and sharks. naturally not a single kingfish brought up to the boat (which was the intention of trip) but still a productive day on the water. get a "top spots" map and find the closest live bottom to land that you can. all the fish are in close now w/ water temp so warm. i would agree to avoid charleston w/ FFM tournament this weekend, it will be mobbed.
