Seems like everyone here has replaced their old gas tanks, and I am getting ready to get one made as well. The question is how do you get rid of the old tank? I would think it could be worth a little bit of change back in your pocket to scrap it, but is it a problem being a fuel tank with gas residue?

I see them at the scrap yard weekly. All shapes / sizes. FYI down here in S FL they pay $0.55 per pound.

I took mine to the local scrap yard intact no problem. Some yards from what I understand want them cut in half before they take them. Give your local scrap yard a call and see how they would take it.
