Default 23' Sceptre weight question

Well I finally found a really nice 1975 Sceptre i/o to fill out the fleet here. It currently has a ford V8 and alpha one outrive. I'm probably going to repower with a volvo or 5.7 merc engine. I'm also shopping for a new trailer, so my question is: who has actually weighed their 23 Sceptre on a scale?

Thanks!
Steve

Default Re: 23' Sceptre weight question

I'd also like to know for sure,as i have a 74 Tsunami that i i put a 350 5.7 Mercruiser and Alpha drive in.

I'm going to guess around 4,000 pounds for the hull with engine and outdrive only.
Additional weight, adds up quickly when you factor in the fuel, batteries, canvas, and all the other stuff like tackle etc.

The original specs say 2,800 lbs for the hull.
Engine with alpha drive is around 1,100 to 1,200 lbs.I only have a fifty gallon fuel tank,so i figure with everything like fuel, batteries, downriggers, kicker motor, all the tackle, and other stuff,That I'm right around 5,000 lbs or a bit more.

I just finished the restoration, and it's inside for the winter, but i plan on weighing it in the spring,as i have two scales less than a mile from my home.
