Great catches Nick, here's a west coast specimen from late Oct. Never got any real numbers and the skipper said it was a bigeye. Pretty sure it's a nice BFT (shorter pec fin). Truth is most of the BFT around here are 30-50#. 100# class are rarely culled on rod and reel 'cause people tend to go out geared for 40# fish and get spooled. Here's my colleague, Otis, he's 6'2" & 285#.
Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. Got him on the troll. Poor s.o.b. can't even tie a Palomar knot but he sure can eat sushi with the best of them...
