having engine trouble???? suzuki DT 115 outboard.

fr. frank i understand your philosophy but throttle body + vapor seperator = fuel injection... i just used clues in the original post to figure out whether it is carbed or injected... i mess with engines on a daily basis, but this one has me scratching my head...

well don't scratch no more!!!! I got it!!! I took everything apart again and checked all my fuel hoses and checked out the fuel vapor seperator and still clean and took off my throttle body and checked inside. (clean) then put it all together, started her up and didn't leak then after about 30 seconds it started to piss out again I was pissed !!! so i started scratching my head and figured I'd try it again and turned the key and nothing!!! So then I tracked down a bad battery wire so i just jumped the starter and it coughed so I lifted the idle lever up and did it again and it started but FULL THROTTLE!!!! AHHHHHRRRR!!!!! ooops!!!! so I ran to the throttle and turned it down and to my surprise it didn't start leaking out!!!!!! SO I don't know what I did except I think by starting it full throttle for a second I luckly didn't blow up my engine but luckly I think I blew what ever was blocking fuel out!!! And the reason why I think It is a block is because I told a mercruiser mechanic about it and he said that fuel injection is high pressure and ( i don't remember what make he was telling me about ) but some manufacture used to have a valve on it that if there was a problem the pressure would build and there was a release valve thing and would piss gas out and stall your engine down to let you know there was a problem. which it does. the wierd thing is, is that if the throttle isn't down and you are just on idle the throttle body doesn't have any vaccum powerfull enough to suck the gas in so it just goes inside the engine cover, but if i gave it enough throttle the vaccum suck the fuel into the throttle body. I don't know you got me!!!! BUT IT'S FIXED!!!!! Now onto the trim????? Does anyone know how to put the fluid into my fluid resiviour ?? I found where to fill it but there must be another screw or something to let the air out so the fluid can go in????? Yep I'm a carpenter NOT a MECHANIC !!!! LOLOL Oh did I mention a BROKE carpenter!! So I gotta do it myself!! BY THE WAY THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!!! I appreciate you guys trying to help me out!!!! And I will still try and post a picture once I can borrow a camera, so you can see the hole I was talking about. Thanks again!!!

I am just plain broke ...I dont think your Suzuki has an exit hole for the air to escape when you fill it. I remember my neighbor had a Suzuki and I remember him tilting engine up and down and adding more fluid...somebody else will chime in here..I am not a mechanic either!!!!!

not quite sure about suzuki but i know yamaha tells you to trim engine completely up use the support "legs" to hold engine up then release pressure on hydro. system by loosening manual release and fill till it barely runs out of fill hole, replace plug, tighten manual release, and run trim system up and down a couple times air sould work itself out... i may be off a little but im telling you from my best memory
