Default Re: Flushing motor in a barrel - any cons?

I had a 2 stoke 55 suzuki for 12 yrs, I would run it in a tub to flush and had good success. I did not change the water after every flush, maybe every third or fourth flush the oil residue would stay in the tub and and I would run the motor right in the oil water solution. I had some of the longest running water pumps I have ever had
changed twice in 12yrs. always ran strong, the impellers that came out after 6 yrs looked brand new

my feelings are that the oil and exhaust waste in the tub lubricates the inside of the cooling system and kept everything in top shape. good luck
