Default Re: 90 HP 4 cycle performance

Actually, the new Suzuki four stroke 70, 80, and 90 hp motors are 341-347 lbs. The 100, 115, and 140 hp models are 427-440 lbs.

The Suzuki DF90 tested at 92 hp by Trailer Boating, contrasted with my 375 lb Mercury Optimax 90 2-stroke testing at 106 hp here locally, and the BRP Etec 90 2-stroke testing at 105 hp according to results published on Scream-n-Fly.
  • The Yamaha F90 4-stroke weighs 369 lbs.
  • The Yamaha 90 hp 2-stroke weighs a measly 269 lbs.
  • The Yamaha 115 2-stroke weighs 358 lbs. I don't have actual power output figures on the Yamahas.
  • The Honda 4S 90 EFI weighs in at 365 lbs.
  • The Honda 115 weighs 505 lbs.
  • The Chinese-made Parsun 100 hp 2-stroke inline 4 weighs 298 lbs.
  • Ruggerini Diesel outboards of Italy has a 130 hp diesel outboard in testing. It's a 4 cylinder 4-stroke common-rail diesel. Test models weigh 480 lbs.
  • The Tohatsu MD90 DFI 3 cylinder 2-stroke, weighs just 315 lbs and tested out at 77.4 kW propshaft power output (105.2 hp) in a test in Australia.
  • The Tohatsu 115 DFI 4 cylinder weighs 392 lbs and tested out at 91.7 kW (124.7 hp)

Amazing what just an hour of research will turn up.
