First of all, I think that sounds like a pretty good deal.

I have come to realize that I'm a SeaCraft nut. I mean certifiable.

I'm about dead broke as a part-time pastor, but I borrowed $1500 two days ago to try to buy a '73 20' SF in Citra I saw advertised on the Ocala 4 Sale website. I showed up just 15 minutes after another guy who ended up buying the boat. Yes, for $1500, boat, motor, and trailer.

It had a '94 Mercury 225 w/ a 25" shaft on a manual jack plate mounted to the original 20" transom. Seastar hydraulic steering. Motor had 58 hours on the hour meter since a new powerhead was installed in 2003, but has not been run since 2007.

Deck had been re-cored with plywood a few years ago, and the original 47 gallon tank replaced with a 110 gallon poly tank, eliminating the below deck livewell, and the deck drains through the hull bottom. Deck now drains through two scuppers exiting the hull sides.

It came with a late 90's Magic Trail galvanized single axle trailer with surge disc brakes, in great shape except for very rusty springs. Small stainless T-top frame with no canvas.

The bad parts were a very flexible transom, and a small but cosmetically poorly repaired section of the cap forward where the owner said an oak tree fell on the boat in '05, and 40 years of accumulated bottom paint.

When I told my wife about the deal I just barely missed she made me aware that if I had actually bought the boat without discussing it with her, I would have been sleeping on it or the Seafari indefinitely.

I sold a 20 Seafari a couple months ago here for 750, that Ran and had a good bimini. Trailer had needed new axles and springs, but floor was solid. Engine ran and outdrive worked. Market is very soft and if it needs a floor I would offer a lot less.
