Thanks! am gathering information and mulling it over before doing any actual drilln
![]() Sat down with a friend in Chatham whom is rebuilding a 23 with an volvo 260HP diesel and jackshaft, he had some pics of his boat in the late 70's and 80's. noted where the tuna slide was located before he started the rebuild-just forward of the console. and in the pics, the tuna is brought on head first. same theory as a teeter I think, got to get it over bulk of the weight so flips in. fast so not exposing to waves. wonder where he mounted the teeter board location wise? was it over the stern or a side, and if side where?? First instinct was tail rope and behind the console location for a slide. Don't think that is good call now. in looking at pics of buefins and 23's in the heydays (when i was a kid) seems like the (now) old timers had it right. Anyhow, appreciated! Makes ya wonder what happened to this captain, backing down? tail rope, poor slide location, scuppers not self bailing? Makes you pause, time for me to go put an EPIRB on the short list as well. and fish with another boat ![]()
