3 1/2 pails. I had it calculated at 16.75 gallons. I used the Arjay formula for the volume plus as a double check I also went to the Seacast web site to get their formula to figure the volume, pretty simple. I filled all the way to within 1" to the top of the transom splashwell sides. There was no wood left in the transom when I poured, so this should be pretty much the same volume for most all the 23' SFs.
