Default Re: Trailers for SC 23'

you guys have been so helpful with all my trailer questions. please bare with me as i have a few more. these are regarding bunks. one trailer shop here quoted me $80 each for new bunks 3"x6"x10' that are carpeted already. i was thinkin for alot less i can just go to homedepot or a lumber yard and get sone boards in the dimensions that i need and carpet them myself. is a 4x6 enough to support the portion of the 23 that sticks out past the trailer frame? or could i even step up to 2 2x8's bolted together for each side?? my bunk mounts are welded on and a 3.5" board fits in there. now for the front, i was thinking of using the forward v-bunks and maybe one of those v-shpaed pvc guides? i need to get the boat back over here so i can take some pictures of the trailer.
