Progress has been slowed some on the 25 seafari but I have managed to get a little work accomplished over the last two weeks.
The seat boxes have been painted Holes were cut for the Plumbing for the live well and fish box. The fish box will have one drain and the live well will have a fill, drain and overflow. A little thought had to go into were these holes were cut because the hoses for these fittings will route under the deck and back to the transom. I had to put the seat boxes in the boat to get the right measurements. with that out of the way I then glassed the live well and fish box to the underside of the seat boxes. I first glued them in place with some construction adhesive and then used 6" 1708 tape around the perimeter. A bead of 3M 4200 was run around the perimeter on the inside to ensure there will be no leaks. That was allowed to set up overnight and then I used spray foam to insulate. The spray foam worked great and was a cheap and efficient way to insulate. It was a little tedious to apply and I had to make an extension off the can to reach deep into the seat box but I got good coverage. It is compatible with polyester resin. I needed to make a bulkhead for the anchor locker since this boat did not come with one. Since my molding table is a mess right now I waxed and buffed a piece of hard board and then sprayed with PVA. 50/50 White Gel coat and duratec high gloss clear additive was brushed on and then 2 layers of heavy matt I borrowed the bulkhead out of the other 25 seafari to use as a template and cut a $38 piece of 3/4 ply and then glued it down with cabosil. The finished bulkhead. The back and and edges will get a nice heavy layer of Gelcoat A couple weekends ago I turned the boat port into a spray booth again by tarping off both ends. and I was finally able to get the sides of the hull sprayed. This is Awlgrip Kingstone Gray. I still have to apply the boot stripe. The tower is in the shop as it needs some work prior to painting. It will get painted Awlgrip off white. This evening we secured the top cap to the hull with ss bolts and aluminum rivets. I will post again as soon as I get something worth posting. Time to go watch some Deadliest Catch re-runs. strick

That grey is a nice subtle color.
Am I correct in guessing that on your bulk head you will leave it in gel coat and not paint it (I guess that is why you gel coat ![]() ![]()

Strick,
What can I/we say? Me thinks you are a Yankee at heart, just because of the level of ingenuity you bring to so many situations. Would you consider moving east to a town of 4000, 40 miles north of Boston and there are no strip malls, tacky shops or even a super market (they are close by though!). (My neighbor's house is for sale.)

Thanks fellas for the nice comments and valuable advice. I'm gonna see about having it modified. Need the radar arch for sure....the visor part and the rocket launchers I'm not too sure about.

You could kiss the water surface, even in the captains chair. I grew up thinking this boat was unsinkable and self righting with all my Grandfathers and uncles stories over the years. I think I have told a few of those stories on this board. It was only after finding this site, that I started to think otherwise. I used to purposely lay the boat on her side, just to touch the water from the captains chair, for kicks. It seems foolish now but not when I was a teenager. Anyway I could never even make her cavitate with all that foolishness. A high tower with helm would make a difference but I dont think Stricks tower will make too much of a difference, especially if he removes 53 of those rod holders
![]() I always wanted a radar arch. The boat does need a place for the antennae for the toys. If I ever get any of those toys, I'll have to find an alternative as I will, one day, move her to Nova Scotia(that might be soon as I just bought a trailer) and I have one low bridge at high tide on my river and want to be able to use the boat in any tide. I think she looks sharp with the tower. Looking forward to seeing her with the windshield on. Brandon |

![]() The face of the bulk head is glassed. The back side (facing to the bow will just get a heavy coat of gel. I guess I could glass it too or paint but I'm getting a little lazy. ![]() strick

![]() After taking a good look at yours, you could hire out when the boat is done and do the 4th of July Fireworks display at your local marina. ![]() ![]()
