Default Sceptre to SAVAGE Project

The "FREE" 1978 Sceptre is going to be transformed to a "Savage".

The condition of this boat requires a TOTAL tear down. First will be the removal of the windshield assembly. Then the complete top cap (damaged) will come off.

Then the interliner and then the soft floor and lastly the transom will be replaced from the inside and completely rebuild solid as a full transom with a bracket bolt on.

This is a TON of Work.

QUESTION: How hard is it to remove the inner liner, specifically the forward inner cabin from the hull. Is it glassed down? or 5200 down? Is that demo going to be a PITA? I want to salvage this piece and reinstall after I rework it.

Thanks,

Jim

Wow that will be brutal. Good luck, at least you have something to do after you build my doors.

Don't be afraid of that potter putty, i replaced the deck in my dad's sceptre and alot of that putty was old and not even adhearing anything. The potter putty sticks pretty good to stringers and lower part of the deck but seems to separate from the top deck, prob cause of heavy seas and pounding. I think you will be alright, here are some photos of that pink crap

jim you could use that spashwell as part of the livewell and do the covered transom. the form is there already just add to it. one other thing my tank is 75 gal yours looks to be 100+ you my want to move it forward to offset the wt of the livewell/outboard and to give you access to the bilge
