Hi FG1,
I have heard the "Bananas" story before but, I never did get confirmation from my boss on whether it was the same boat. With Wayne being a salesman at that time it would fit how my boss acquired her. The other boat might be a possibility also, because she definitely had IOs at one time. When I skinned the transom down for rebuilding you could see where the outdrive holes had been patched.

Thanks for the insight,
Richard

Default If anyone up north buys this I want first invitation to come see

I might even be tempted to do a road trip with my 12 valve cummins diesel. What a legend this boat might be?

I spoke with Wayne recently and this intel is correct to his memory.
He does not remember it being green though, but you never know
who may have painted her before.

I have his contact info if you like.

PM the info if you don't mind...

Richard said she wore many coats, when he sanded it down he counted many layers. He told me the that the old or bottom first coat appeared to be Yellow so that is in line with the story. I think the green I found may of been that late 60's green gel coat that so many of the old Moesly's were laid up with. Probably applied to allow it to pop from the Formica mold.
