Thanks Lew, It was worth the road trip for sure. Got the engine, gimble and drive out today. Only had a couple hours to tinker on it. She's pretty original as far as i can tell. I hate to but looks like i'm going to have to reconstruct the engine compartment and cover to support a 4.3 V-6. The original compartment and cover are in good shape. I'll try to incorperate the cover being it has the Seacraft protrusion on the front of it. We'll see. The stringers in the engine compatment are in good shape/solid, thats good news. Can't say that for the transom, haha.
