If you really get in a hurry to turn around, the boat will lay over so far the keel loses it grip on the water and the boat spins. The really weird thing is this all feels completely calm, controled, "no problem, mon," like it is the most normal thing in the world.
Drive it around for a few hours and you don't even notice the bank, just have to remember to warn your passengers. It will scare them to death. Wonderful complement to the bank is the extreme ease with which you can adjust the angle the bow comes down on when when entering a wave if it is rough. Come down correctly and all is calm, it doesn't seem to matter how rough it is or how high the boat was above the water. Takes a bit of practice, but makes a huge difference in how rough it feels. Nice find! My hull 12 is a rat in comparison. I wonder if there will be enough for a cape cod bay get together soon? I am curious where you got the trailer?
I like the placement of the seat posts- Mine were no longer original. I might might make some nut plates for pedestal bases, if you are interested in screwing into something more substantial than end grain balsa and a bit of glass sandwich. Maybe we could start a thread comparing notes on this model, like power, fuel tanks, seating? Does your USCG plate say 3 people? Mine says 8. Last edited by FishStretcher; 05-06-2013 at 10:29 PM. |

Gillie, I met Ken Dryden about 18 yrs ago. He really is wider than three of me.
Big enough to use a rake. Awesome. Three trips to the Dump dump dump. Dave`s helm chairs are sweet. And the price... I think we all shop alike, with a keen eye and Scottish provisions. The owner knew what he had. He wanted someone with a keen eye to find her. I repeatedly asked for Papa`s tool box when he died. He knew she would not think about it. I got it. He knew I wanted it. I am very interested to see how the fuel economy/range is with a 350 pushing this boat. The plate says 8 although it looks like a 3 in the pic. A CC bay get together would be fun . . . Connor and GFSM - You guys are killing me with the f-16 handling description! I wish this was functional, but I'm gonna have to park it soon during fishing season. TR drive lead didn't pan out. I'm looking at a donor boat tomorrow with TRS drives. Donor has twin 350's, TRS drives, and newer manifolds and a trailer for short money (in case anyone needs a cheap trailer).

WOW, awesome find!! looks like shes in good shape! Damn, my 72 cost me 3500 and a 1200+ mile trip to get it!, Mine is hull #15, if we keep this up we will have all the 72 25's on here!
