if it is a true float-on brand you'll need a pelican hook to replace your bow eye. they run around $100 i think.

Anyway my thoughts on an old trailer - $300 max because you'll have $1000 into it in wheels, tires, bearings and bunks. Depending on the trailer you need to add brakes( for sure if you go to the keys) and maybe axles / hubs. I have found over time buying a new trailer is less expensive and less hassle than rebuilding an old one.

If you want an old school winch on trailer(like mine, that will last forever) then buy used and rebuild.

My $0.02
