I have a 1999 and love it. The scuppers are in a gutter, which keeps the floor dry and I have a horizontally hinged transom door, which gives more room aft of the leaning post. The compromise is that it must be folded down to fully tilt the motor. I think the newer models had an improved deck. I like my storage and livewell layouts. I do have a small console, more deck space but no head, very tight for batteries, harder to access wiring. Everything on boats involves trade offs, but I like my total layout compared to older layouts, and my transom was designed for the newer motors which are deeper and heavier. It may not be a Potter, but they did make some improvements, and there is no wood in it.
