wtb engine cover for 1973 23 sceptre

I just bought this boat and engine box is short by 1.50" ,seems previous owner used a shorter one on his rebuild,.Will post picture tomorrow .Thanks for the replies

Here is OEM arrangement - I definitely don't get what the PO did...

I have a 73 and a 74 I/O single engine covers, and both boxes measure 38.75" outside .not cut, with nice OEM finished edges.not sure what else to say.
