What year is yours? Mine is a 75 and I run a DF140 on the transom. Planing speed is around 17-18kts. Lotta weight in the stern. My transom was waterlogged and rotten in places, extra weight. Had a 20" transom and water stayed in the splashwell, had to keep plugs in the bulkhead to keep water out of the cockpit. The newer models were built to newer standards and, maybe, you won't have much trouble. A 225 is SOOOOO much more power than you need. Much over 35 kts and she starts to fly. I'm going back with composite transom raised 3", composite deck, moving console forward, NEW larger fuel tank moving forward, batteries under console, mounting motor on a 3" setback manually adjustable jackplate so I can dial motor height in. Should be posting numbers in a couple weeks. BTW, I'm running a 21P stainless prop that, I believe, has some extra cup in it. Good luck.
