Advice on buying used but new to me 1973 potter Hull 23 seacraft
Hi all I am looking at a 1973 Potterhull 23 center console with a 1996 evinrude 225 ocean pro on it , man said it was bought after it was freshly rebuilt but he does not know how many hours on it , that being said it runs great however you guys knows a whole heap of a lot more than me about these boats , is there anything I should be looking for and possibly some questions I should be asking to ensure Im not getting burned ? Thank you so much !

You're best bet is read everything you can here and have the boat surveyed.

Advice seeking a used SeaCraft
Yes there is a ton of advice on CSC. I believe i recall a list by Bushwacker who wws the former performance moderator before he moved up to a 49 trawler. He made a lot of posts but this might narrow your search. Good luck!

1st - based on your screen name, Thank You for your service.
If the price is right - BUY IT! The 23 CC is one of the best boats EVER built. That being said, a survey always a good investment (unless the boat is so cheap you know there is work to be done). |

Seems you question, concerns is mostly about the engine. I had a 1995 225 Ocean Pro and it was pretty much bullet proof, however do NOT expect any good fuel burn numbers. Those six carburetors happily flow gas into the cylinders, lots of gas and oil.

Hello. These guys s have all given u great advise and I dont know what these guys know but I am the middle of a 1973 rebuild and one thing is is for sure,if decks and transom have not been rebuilt they will for sure need to be done. As one said if its cheap just buy it they are hard to find. Great boats good luck.
