The corners came out easily. I cut the floor out so I didn't have to worry about the hull distorting. The liner is a great deal of the structural integrity. I was also reducing weight anywhere and everywhere possible. Getting rid of the in deck live well would have been a little more troublesome for me if the whole liner was out. LEST WE FORGET...all that wonderful Potter Putty. That's going to be a pain without having access to it. There should be a very large area under the livewell that will make you lose your temper. Prepare yourself to hear some loud and uncomfortable cracking and popping noises! Good luck and please post pics.

Ok...time to chime in on this one. I am trying hard to start my own thread after picking a lot of your brains. I have a 1975 18SF in the process of a rebuild. Only my second post so forgive the picture if it is upside down. I cut my liner right behind the console to do the transom and carved out the fishbox as part of the diet (sitting on top of coffin box). Expected to battle the Potter Putty but mine popped loose easily. It may have something to do with the torque of an unfortified ski pylon. I would go on but I will save some for my thread and give back to a bunch of the guys who have shared their time with me. Look forward to seeing what you do.
