I took a measurement of roughly 1.5 inches off the stringers before I removed the deck. I haven't decided if I'm going to put back in with that height or raise another inch. I have a Yamaha f150 hanging on the back.

So, I finally removed the the motorwell to access the transom this past weekend. It came out as planned, but had to use the ole trusty chainsaw to grind through the 1/2 inch of thickened resin between back of motorwell to inner transom skin. Definitely areas of wet wood, but not all rotten and not all dry. Lots of hatching squares and chiseled away. How far is everyone cutting back the stringers from the transom to finish tearing the old wood and recoring in with new composite?
