Seems thrust and depth of motors is allowing installation on larger boats than previously attempted. Know the guys who are the Northeast / mid atlantic sales reps for Minn Kota . Asked them for dealer in your area and they recommended Motor Tech in Suffolk, Va .
Think deeper is better no matter what to keep prop in water in worst conditions- at least what can be reasonably accomodated when stowed.
Think if it were me, would look at the Terrova for reasons you mention if a Minn Kota product.
