I don't think there is any balsa. Plywood yes, but not end grain balsa. Not sure why that would matter.(?)

All the stringers are foam filled except for the one on the keel. That is wood.

On my 20 sceptre, all glass except for the active window. My window frame was made by American Marine Products. Still doing business in Florida.

Floor is made of sandwiched plywood. Not sure about your question on the transom. I'll be going in from the inside of the boat, by removing the liner. I'll most likely use an air driven die grinder. The smaller the kerf, the least dust. [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img]
