Skeg Guards???

My boat is trailered 99 percent of the time. The most it will ever sit in the water is three days so the electrolysis should not be a problem. According to their install though, they say to just install the guard, use it as a template to drill the skeg, leaving the guard in place, and then bolt it in place. If I do get one of these, I will remove it after drilling to seal the aluminum on the inside of the holes and then install so the salt can not get to it. The paint will then act as the barrier between the aluminum and the stainless to minimize any problems what would arise..... According to the website, there is no drop in performance though, I doubt that. But, even if there is, do you think anyone would really feel or even see the difference? I doubt it because it would be so minimal......I am already running 63 with the new boat. If anything, it would slow me down to a more realistic speed...
