Having now had both a SeaCraft 18' and 20', my goal would be to find the lightest engine that would reasonably push the boat.

Although an I/O option would place the primary weight of the engine farther forward than if it were an outboard, putting a half ton engine in a boat whose hull weighs just 1600#'s wouldn't be the first thing that came to mind.
