Capt. Chuck
Thanks for the reply!! Very neat, looks like mine was on the dealer's floor when yours was in production. Only 42 hulls later...... Seeya Don |

I wonder where mine came from?
NJZ Are the first three. It ends in 86, but my title says it is a 1970. Any ideas? |

I was thinking that was the case.
Maybe it was a reassignment? Being this old I was told that they do not have to have it stamped on the transom. |

Prior to 1972 mfg's were not required to stamp the HIN on the transom, nor did they need to be 12 characters in length. |

What year did hulls first come with hull identification numbers? I heard 72/73. What are the implications of a seller not having a title? I bought a 73' SeaCraft a few years ago that did not have a title, but the valid registration worked. I'm considering a 1987 23' whose owner does not have the title and hasn't been registered since sinking 3 years ago. Any thoughts?

From jedgar performance thread
Quote:
There should not be any confusion on this issue but I guess there still remains questions! There are many threads on this site that show the time line on the SeaCraft boats, some right and some wrong ![]() ScottM's source is "Very Reliable" As both he and I personaly sat with Mr. Potter. CSY Corp took the mold and the tooling for the 23'& the 27' models ONLY over to tampa for approx 1 year. Your Hull Id will tell you by whom and when (year) your hull was manufactured. It is hard to get the exact month and day companies acquire each other as these business dealings take place over time. I went back over all the "time line" posts that I could find and came up with this list that several SeaCrafters have been able to muster: ![]() SEC = SeaCraft Inc (Potter 1969 thru 5/80) CSY = Carribbean Sailing Yachts (1980-1982 23'& 27' SeaCrafts only) SIC = SeaCraft Industries Corp (1980 thru 1987 other SeaCraft Models) (Potter on Board of Directors approx 1 year after sale) TXY = Sarasota Marine Corp ('86-'88 CSY Parent Co) SIC = Tracker SeaCraft of Fla (1987 thru 1990) all models SXC = Stern Craft Corp (1994 Silver King Parent then Tracker Parent Co in 1995) MIC = Silver King Boats (1994-2002 Mako Marine Parent Co) MRK = Mako Marine (2002 Parent Co SeaCraft from Tracker) Is everyone confused more then ever now ![]() What happened to Silver King Boats after all this ![]()

I wonder if the hull # is the number of hulls that were Actually manufactured that year???
SECF30140976 Hull number 140 If so we could figure out how many boats were actually built total and also total boats per year. FellowShip |
