Those Optima batteries look nice indeed. However, my two Walmart batteries have done the trick for nearly four years now.
I agree. With proper sizing, switching and maintainence, any good wet cell battery will service you well. Of the 50 bazillion golf carts in the world, none use anything other than wet cell lead batteries. They get run DEAD on a regular basis and probably overcharged too.

Save your money and buy some good lures from Frenzie or Todd's...

I had 2 Optima Blue Tops in mine and they were great but I think I'll go with 2 Trojan Valve Regulated Sealed Lead Acid batteries next time, work just like the Optimas but have more oomph, less delicate when charging and less expensive. Last a looong time too!

One of my reason;s for using the Optima's is No offgassing. The area I have them in has way to much stuff that could be affected by that. They also don't leak and cause corrosion on the terminals like a wet cell battery.

Minkotta battery chargers work Very well with Optima's.

Minkotta 440. This is one BIG charger on a 23ft boat and it's heavy too.
