Hey Fellas,

Wanted to update few of those links:

1. One of my buddies went to look at the red boat; deck was soft and transom was shot. It's at atlantic and they wanted 6500 or 7000 for just the hull and trailer. (i.e. not a good buy).
2. I bought the $4500 hull and trailer. So, that one is not really on the market any more.

I am new to the site, so I don't mean to step on anyone's toes. I agree that there are some good boats out there, now is the right time of year to be looking.

best,
KenB

This is not intended to slight anyone or any area but what is it with folk that will only consider a boat in their own backyard?! I know people from Rhode Island who have driven to Key West as recently as two weeks ago and trailered a boat home. It's not THAT FAR. There are so many more SeaCraft boats for sale in Florida than up in the Northeast and they are priced significantly cheaper down here. A long days drive down, a day to take it for a sea trial, and a long day home and you're DONE.

I live in Colorado half the year and my first day drive there or back is 1,300 miles, that's nearly the entire trip that anyone from the NE to FL would have - total one way. Leave at 3am and by the end of happy hour you're checking into your hotel, palm trees and cold drinks at your side.

Please consider the fact that you'll own this boat for years, is one long weekend of driving really all that bad?

Not to mention a dose of the 85 degree weather we're having right now.

I agree with Mark !!
Myself and two of my closest friends drove 1660 miles
from Daytona, FL. to Deville, LA. (round trip)
to pick-up my $560 78 Sceptre....
Yes, it is a project boat, but the time we had
doing the male bonding thing was great!!!
Scratchin', sniffin' & generally goofing off.
You will not regret making a trip anywhere for
the right boat...

See ya, Ken
