My dream boat. I hope you treat this dowager queen well. I only wish I could afford to restore her.

Ken good luck!! One small piece of advice for what it is worth. If you are really interested in it, you may want to try to track down the title before you acquire it if possible.. If the boat is located in Florida, I know a little bit about title issues. I am a real estate attorney and, in addition to my 23 seacraft, I own a 20 ft. sailboat (compliments of a local marina) with no title.. It has been a major fight trying to get a title in order to register it. I have it worked out now but it has taken some serious, serious creativity on my part... At any rate, if the boat is salvagable, I would hate to sink a bunch of $$$ in it and then have title issues. Just my 2 cents..... 27 seacrafts are tanks for sure...
The above is very good advice. But you can sink a lot of time and money into obtaining previous title, too. If all else fails, if you can show receipts for rebuilding materials which amount to more than the purchase price of the hull (51% or more of the value at time of registration), you can easily title it as a homemade boat. I've done this 3 times.

Thank God someone is buying it so I don't have too !!! Enjoy the project, with a Sawzall, some sanding, a little GelCoat, a new Diesel and some fishing rods, it will look like this.

Ken - I threw a $50 bid in earlier (didn't know you were bidding) I must have been smokin crack. Please outbid me . . . I don't need or want it even for $50
I must be on the same batch of crack you are Big..
It drives me nuts to see a beauty in the rough go for scrap.

Thanks for all the cheerleading from you guys to see this
through.

OK, I'm going to fire up another stem and chill out.

that boat is the same type as a gent I once knew in NJ
back in the 70's
he had the cockpit finished in teak, extra fuel behind cabin bulkhead and extra fuel on the front deck all in permanent tanks finished white.
he would run 80 miles to the canyons and target white marlin
very nice boat when finished
his boat had a pair of inboard gas engines with jack shafts no IO's
that is a big project but a great boat when completed
good luck with the buy and redo
