Just out of curiosity, where was the carpet on the MA? The only carpet on mine was in the bow locker and I took it out (along with about 10lbs of sand).

Rusty - could you post up pics of your bow deck extension. I've been thinking about doing that and it would be great to see your approach. I'm thinking of making a frame out of Speed Rail so it assembles/disassembles quickly.

I would stick with the carpet, on mine it adds some color (black) and I will bet it knocks down some sound, always had mine. Sand is not an issue unless you walk in some very odd ways in the boat? Since mine was black the Cruise Director then color coded it with gray - boot stripe is a 3 color West Black and Gray - console seats have gray stripe and the new T Top is black.

On deck extension, take a look at Speed Rail for the frame: http://www.hollaender.com/index.cfm?...D542E83A8C403F

3/4" aluminum tubing will more than sufficient for the application. It's great stuff and goes together/disassembles quickly -- the only tool you need is an allen wrench. Very affordable too.

I'm focused on getting my boat in the water but a drop-in deck extension will be one of the top items on my list for the summer. I'll post some pics when I get around to it.
