Wrecked,
Excellent Buy... I have a 72 potter Tsunami with a 350 V ROD... and i friggin love the power... The weight is the same from 225 V rod all the way up to the 350... The 350 racing is a little different but i think only 20 lbs...

Excellent Score and i love the white... just got done repainting mine from Black to white last month...

CaptainDH,

I spent considerable time getting the engine height and prop set good... I am running a Powertech OFS 4 blade 18.5 pitch with some extra cup... With the windscreen and full canvas enclosure... I Get

32 mph at 4000 RPM burning about 12 gallons an hour
54 mph at 6450 RPM burning close to 40 gallons an hour

I did not see a huge improvement from the 300 zuke to the 350 V-Rod...
2mph at cruise and 5 mph top end.

The next engine will for sure be the 300 Mercury V8 at 528 lbs that has to make a difference... my 350 weights right in at 670 lbs.

If u need anything else feel free to PM me..
Robert

ah, the bloody duck. went there in 1980, when I first moved to Florida. Got to be friends with one of the girls, but then met my second wife and decided it wouldn't be a good idea to keep going there. Going outside to the restroom was always an adventure.

bmajvi-Our family's Morgan sailboat was at the Lake Park Marina. We hauled the boat out at Cracker Boy where I was first introduced to sanding bottom paint with a cheap 3m breather mask....Spencer's was uptown!

Oh, and wrecked03, sorry for the thread hijack. That's some serious hardware you've got bolted on back there... certainly should get you going! Good luck, looking forward to hearing how she runs once dialed in.

Not a problem. Can't wait to get her out in the next week or two.

Took her out today as a shake down. Motor was too deep. Going to raise her up on Saturday. Go try again on Sunday. Just testing today we saw 39 kts at 5,300 rpm. Get the motor height right and I think the 19p rev 4 will be pretty close.

6200-6300 seems to be the recommended sweet spot for the Vrod crowd and unless she is way too deep I don't see you gaining 900 rpms. You're on the right road though as motor height needs to right first. The only time it will differ is if you go to a different diameter prop or to a 3 blade which I wouldn't recommend.

The Rev 4 is a great prop for bracketed hulls as the extra lift really helps counteract the reduction in running surface. Keep us updated.
