yup, that was rat shack - I learned basic on a TI 99-4, before the term PC was invented, and data storage / program storage, was on a cassette tape. IBM came along several years later... don't miss those days - |

Wow! I did the same thing, in fact, I still have the Tandy laptop and TI-99 where I first started learning about computers, Basic and DOS! [img]/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Yeah, good times. I remember typing command lines for days and days back in the late '70's, and in the end, we got to play ping pong.

I did it for my father when he was debugging his programs and I would go with him at night after school to help. He would run the program to find the errors and I would punch the new cards for him, install the tapes and the hard disk stacks too! He would rent time at either the Burroughs, IBM or Unisys computers for this work and he got paid over $150 an hour! And he never worked less than 60-70 hours a week so he made very good money in the early 70's.
