There is deep enough water around most of the island, you may have to wade through 1' of water for a little ways but it is pretty well protected. There are many spots you can pull very close to the beach , just bring a stern anchor and all will be well. Any who want to come to the island even w/out a boat no problem, We canhave rides for anyone coming, and if we do decide on Durney we will have at least one maybe more Waverunners for fun and tubing etc, for all to enjoy, and we will bring out a large propane grill and tables, and probably a generator if anyone needs it.

ok i like durney key too. a bit far of a tow but by then ill have the truck set up for towing better with helper bangs and c-notches in the frame so it doesnt bottom out anymore and will probably have trailer set up for less tongue weight. sorry about the run on sentence there. i looked at google for durney key and it shows a little island off the mainland? is that the right one?? http://www.clubkayak.com/greenwave/t...n&location=151

Thats it, please just move the boat back a little, you probably have way too much tough weight and it will tow much better. Very few vehiches need extra stuff to tow a 20 SeaCraft they just aren't that heavy if the trailer is set up correctly. Max is like 2500 lbs with a bunch of crap in it so set it up right and see.

there is way too much tongue weight on my trailer. even though my truck didnt come from the factory with a tow package a fullsize truck should not squat that much. ive already moved it back as much as i can. now i need to move the bunks back another 3-4 inches and i have about 3 inches past the transom.. only problem is the winch stand. i cant move that anymore.

Is there a chance the axle is too far back? Moving it forward 3-6 inches can make a large impact on reducing tongue weight.

ive looked at the axles before. i cant move them forward at all. it was my first option. they are mounted right where the trailer frame bends together towards the front.
egg, i was going to move the bunks back because i know ive gotta move the boat back, i heard that its not good for the transom to not rest on bunks. maybe i can try to learn how to weld on my bow stop/winch stand. |
